Walk into your birth empowered & confident in your body.
I know firsthand what its like to desperately want a natural birth while also wanting to keep me and my baby safe. ➡Did you know, leaving the body uninterrupted during labor is often more safe than using interventions?
I became a doula to help women like you release your fear & tension, and learn to trust that your body was designed to birth. I can help you navigate the twists & turns of labor so that you are confident in the choices you & your birth partner make.
Together we will discuss your unique birth goals & desires, create a custom birth plan, and create a support plan that fits YOU 🙌
People tend to focus on “healthy mom, healthy baby”, and while that is of course priority.. your birth experience matters too.
ℹ️ What is a birth doula?
Doulas are certified to support you and your partner during labor and delivery. Doulas provide education, continuous labor support- including emotional & physical comfort measures, and advocate for you throughout your birth. You can be confident that informed consent will be given before any deviation from your unique birth plan.
You will feel heard, safe, and cared for every step of the way.
ℹ️ Research shows the benefits of having a birth doula include:
- Higher chance of going into spontaneous labor
- Less use of pain medications
- Shorter labor times
- Less chance of having a Cesarean
- Increased APGAR scores for baby
- More positive overall birth experience

Client Reviews
“(Mahala) PRAYED. She encouraged not only me throughout the labor & delivery process, but also that of my spouse. Mahala “tag teamed” and coached my husband when counter pressure was needed as well as during pushing. She provided an opportunity for my husband and I to discuss options and make decisions without pressure by asking medical staff to leave the room upon my request. She gave me full freedom. She did not push one way or the other when making decisions—she knew this was important to me. She provided a calm and steady presence throughout the entire experience. Overall, having Mahala’s support both before, during and after labor and delivery was absolutely essential. I’m thankful for all she did to support me. Much love” – Mckenzie
“Mahala helped me not only feel, but actually be, supported and heard through my pregnancy and labor. She was attentive to not only my needs, but checked-in on my partner which helped me feel part of a team instead of walking through it alone. She offered a lot of education and walked us through all of the options that come with pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum. My labor offered unique challenges that resulted in baby having a short NICU stay and me recovering from a severe hemorrhage. Mahala stayed through it all – she was there from when it started and remained until the very early hours the following day. I promise you will not find a more dedicated and loyal Doula to offer you not only support, but a spirit of friendship that is a support like no other. Thank you, Mahala!!” – Candice
“She communicated well, I felt like I could go to her with any concerns I had with my prenatal care or questions about birth/VBAC/ pregnancy, I also felt that she was incredibly knowledgeable of physiologic birth and things we should be doing / trying leading up to and during birth, she supported us and gave us confidence in our goals, and she really made us feel like we were prepared and had someone in our corner to help make decisions with during birth if we needed to do so” – Jessica
“Mahala did an awesome job in all aspects! She prepared us with education and support throughout the process. As the birth experience unfolded, she was right there with us to help us think and talk through options and feel confident with our decisions even though it wasn’t where we originally had our hearts set, due to uncontrollable events. We didn’t use a doula for our first child, but had Mahala for our second and she made a huge difference in a positive way!” – Zach (Birth partner)
